The Crossing Church of the Nazarene was organized in 1974 as the Alief Church of the Nazarene and began holding services at Chambers Elementary School. In 1975, the church purchased land east of Cook Road, just south of Bellaire Boulevard and built a Church. In 1993, just less than 12 acres was purchased on the corner of Bellaire Boulevard and Howell-Sugarland Road and the building near Cook Road was sold. Services were then held in rented Space on Alief-Clodine Road. A new building was constructed on the Bellaire property in 2005 and the church name was changed to The Crossing Church of the Nazarene.
"The Crossing Church of the Nazarene purposes to help seekers cross over to life, the saved cross over to completeness, and to cross boundaries of culture to build the kingdom of God."
