Nehemiah 5

THE PURPOSE OF THE MISSION IS TO BRING GOD GLORY:

THE FOCUS OF THE MISSION IS PEOPLE:  Vss. 6-7, “When I heard their outcry and these charges, I was very angry.  ⁷I pondered them in my mind and then accused the nobles and officials. I told them, ‘You are exacting usury from your own countrymen!’  So I called together a large meeting to deal with them.”

THE SUCCESS OF THE MISSION DEPENDS ON THE HEALTH OF THE CHURCH:

THE ENDURING NATURE OF THE MISSION REQUIRES OBEDIENCE:  Vss. 10-12, “But let the exacting of usury stop!  Give back to them immediately their fields, vineyards, olive groves and houses, and also the usury you are charging them—the hundredth part of the money, grain, new wine and oil.  ^’We will give it back,’ they said. ‘And we will not demand anything more from them.  We will do as you say.’  

THE EXPANSION OF THE MISSION IS FACILITATED BY A UNIFIED CORE: 

Acts 2:46-47, “They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.  And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”

THE MISSION IS ACCOMPLISHED WHEN A DELIVERED PEOPLE BECOME A PRODUCTIVE PEOPLE:
